Are you ready for Spring? This week as I was traveling through Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee I was reminded just how much I love spring blossoms and folliage. It is such a hopeful thing to see the plants and trees budding out after such a cold winter. It is as though God says “let’s live again” and we are renewed into new growth each Spring. I love daffodils (jonquils) and it makes me feel like I am in my home state of Arkansas when I see them on fenceposts.
My travels this round were so enjoyable. I love to journey on the road and drive as often as I am able. Planes are such magical things, but I love the America I see when I drive across country. This trip from the Ozarks to Middle Tennessee then down to Alabama was not only beautiful, but it was inspiring! So many beautiful yards, spaces and meadows. I just love seeing how others use space and time and materials. Don’t you?
We’ve been noticing fence entrances, for our cottage has a double gate and fences in front and we need to update the look. What do you like for fencing? We’ll have small animals and children within our spaces, Most likely we’ll work on a pretty fence like a 3 or 4 board fence but use something like chainlink inside to keep the little dogs secure.
Tennessee is one of my favorite places on the earth. I lived near Tennessee in Decatur, Alabama for over 11 years. My mentor and friend David Cooper, owned a studio for filming in Brentwood and I worked with our clients there for over a decade several days a week. The commute was beautiful and many of my clients and friends are there to this day. Whether it was shooting their live streamed concerts, taping teaching or show materials or working with PBS or HBO to bring stories to life, Tennessee holds many magical remembrances for me. Funny how God keeps bringing me back for more…I am thankful.
I just cannot drink in the greens and the fences enough this trip. We were guests and strategic consulting at Big East Fork Farm. The Fork Inn offers corporate and location driven activities for conservationist, artisans, private events, and corporations as well as individual entrepreneurs and families who desire to be there and align to the mission of the farm. What a joy it was to have Feller with me on this trip. Our desire to work with aquaponics and to develop our own green houses meant Feller was delighted to be along. Wade was kind to spend time with us explaining how the Farm uses their space and the work they are doing to promote an agrarian lifestyle.
We are preparing to build our own green houses and aquaponics shelters, so it was just amazing to see in 3D what we are desiring to have on our small property. We have so many dreams we are enacting this year and traveling and working together was a long held one.
Feller and I are just about as opposite as we can be, but we surely make one happy whole as we learn to do this together.
Enjoy some of the beauty we experienced this week!
